How many times have you been on the water alone, you caught a nice fish and couldn’t get a good picture for your photo album? Maybe you shot a selfie with your smartphone? Or one of those goofy looking upward angled shots of the fish, your nostrils, and the sky, with a Go Pro mounted far too low to capture the true essence of the moment? Yeah not your best look. Well the folks at EZcam Post have solved this issue for you with this simple and very ingenious solution. The first time I myself truly realized how useful the EZcam Post is was on an evening of Bass fishing while I was alone. Usually I would catch a couple big Bass, throw them in the livewell, then run back to my dock so I could get my wife to take the shot I needed. Well, this evening she was nowhere to be found and I panicked. Then I remembered that the EZcam Post was in my bag. I clamped it onto one of the dock posts beside the boat, attached my D-SLR, set the timer and viola, I had a sweet double lip grip shot to show my family and friends. Since then I’ve been sold on the idea of this useful monopod.

Ease of use was job one when this camera accessory was created. The first time I clamped the EZcam Post was super simple and extremely quick. Actually I was right at home with the slap style ratchet straps as they are the same design found on snowboard bindings. It easily supported my bulky D-SLR, and it was super solid during a 60+ mph run across the lake while filming with the Go Pro as well.

As previously mentioned, I’ve mounted both a full sized D-SLR and a Go Pro but it doesn’t end there. The EZcam Post works with any camera, camera accessory and even a smartphone. The great thing about monopods is that any camera can be mounted to it and so can, for example, an external microphone, lighting and reflectors and so on, as long as the proper clamps and fasteners are on hand. The fact that this monopod has been designed to clamp to a boat seat post is very cool. If you’re an amateur or professional photographer or videographer you can be assured that this particular monopod will make your photoshoots or productions on the water much easier and thus, more successful. A great example of this is a video shoot I did this fall. A good friend and I attached a Go Pro to my EZcam Post which was clamped at the stern seat post of the Bass boat. We had previously downloaded the Go Pro app to our smartphones which allowed us to remotely control all of the cameras functions. Also, we had a second Go Pro mounted on the bow of the boat, also controlled by our phones, giving us two angles of beautiful HD video. We recorded some great footage running the lake that day during this test run, along with a couple photos of fish that we caught the next day. The images and video were level to the desired height due to the fact that the EZcam Post is adjustable from 2-6ft. Very useful indeed.

Now, the EZcam Post can also be used to not only capture your fishing experience, it can also be used to film/photograph waterskiing/wakeboarding, at the skate or snowboard park, in your duck or deer blind while hunting, in your icefishing hut or on you ATV/skidoo, on your dirt bike, and the list goes on. It’s a versatile monopod/camera accessory for sure.

I tell you, as a semi-professional photographer and videographer, as well as an avid angler working in the fishing industry, the EZcam Post came along at the perfect time. I no longer have to worry about being able to capture professional quality images and videos while I’m on the water, especially when I’m alone. Also, doing productions and photo shoots with the anglers I work with along with family and friends has been seriously upgraded with this really inventive accessory. Like they say, the EZcam Post is a “selfie stick on steroids”. Agreed guys, agreed!
